The Museum Turns 12 Years Old, Part 3: ATH Awards

Last year, in my anniversary posts, I featured the third annual Amazing Tap Handles Awards, in which the Tap of the Year went to Conynham Brewing. The previous year's Tap of the Year went to Straight To Ale for their Monkeynaut tap, and the first year's top award went to Heavy Metal Brewing. This year's fourth annual Awards required one of the following: the tap had either made a first appearance in social media, or was first available for sale (through the brewery or on the secondary market), in 2023. I made a list of taps that I know of that fit that criteria and then selected winners from that pool...although, as in previous years, I'm certain there are taps out there that I'm unaware of.

Like the previous year, I will award 9 medals among all potential entries: 3 Bronze medals, 3 Silver medals, and 3 Gold medals, with 1 of the 3 Gold medals awarded the overall "Tap of the Year" category - otherwise known as "Best In Show". I had a little easier time choosing the winners this year, though as before, all 3 Gold medalists were very worthy of claiming the Tap of the Year honor. Here are the winners for 2023:

Bronze - Hatuey (v2) Cuban Style Lager

Bronze - Weathered Souls West Coast Style IPA

Bronze - Anchor West Coast IPA

Silver - Sour Cellars

Silver - Lone Star Armadillo (v4)

Silver - Redhook Storm Surge Hazy IPA

Gold - Front Street Mahalo Pineapple Radler

Gold - Shiner TexHex IPA

Gold - Bud Light State Fair of Texas (v3)

Tap of the Year

Gold - Shiner TexHex IPA

Congratulations to Shiner for their Tap of the Year Award! That concludes the anniversary posts for this year. Stay tuned for a tap giveaway announcement soon...
