Tap Handle #787: Budweiser - Hooters Figure
Rarity: none
Mounting: 3/8" large metallic red ferrule on 5/16" anchor bolt
Here's a tap that is probably older than you would think it is. It was first produced in 2013 for use in select Hooters Restaurant locations, but it wasn't until 2017 that it began to hit the secondary market in greater numbers, allowing more people to add it to their collections. It consists of the torso of a Hooters waitress, dressed in the distinctive orange and white "uniform" with the Hooters logo appearing prominently on the front of the tank top and the bottom of the shorts. In a curious design choice, there are no arms or head, but part of the legs are present, which help merge the torso to the base. The base has a decal displaying "Budweiser" in elegant script. The metallic red oversized ferrule at the bottom is quite striking and unusual. Over the years, the price for these on the secondary market has fluctuated wildly, from as much as $300 to as low as $60 for one with dings and chips. There also seems to be no shortage of them, with several available at the time that this post was written.
