Tap Handle #880: Tilted Kilt - Leggy Lass IPA

Tap size:  12"

Rarity:  tap no longer produced, fragile, 25 or less seen

Mounting:  internal 3/8" nut

I mentioned in tap profile #842, Tilted Kilt's T-K Lager "Cassie" tap, that I would be profiling a different tap soon. Well, the time has come: here is the Tilted Kilt Leggy Lass IPA tap. If you were to take the first version of the Cassie tap and cut it in half at the waist, this bears a strong resemblance to the lower half of that tap. With the top of the tap bearing a round sign displaying the name of the beer on it, Leggy Lass has an unusual look that some collectors think it looks great and others think is kind of creepy. I find myself somewhere between those two opinions; I would say that the effect is a bit strange, though not enough to prevent me from acquiring it. The legs are standing on a red, inverted cylinder shape that has the brewery's logo on each side. This has the same potential to crack at the ankles as the Cassie tap, and I wonder if this might have been a smaller run, or discontinued instead of redesigned, as I've actually seen fewer of these than I have of Cassie. Of the 15 or so that I've seen on the secondary market, 2 of those were cracked and 2 were missing the signage topper. It first appeared around 2016, selling between $60-$100, but lately the price has skyrocketed, with the last one in good condition (at the time of this writing) selling in 2025 for $300.

For more about Tilted Kilt, see this post.

Leggy Lass IPA was contract brewed for Tilted Kilt by Goose Island Brewing in Chicago, Illinois. One reviewer described it as dark golden or light amber in color, with a small head, faint hoppy aroma, and a mild hoppy taste, with toned down malts in the background.
