Museum Turns 10 Years Old, Part4: 2021 Amazing Tap Handle Awards

I would not describe 2021 as a great year for new taps. The effects of Covid and supply chain issues very likely had a big impact on the quantity and availability of new taps. So take this year's awards with a grain of salt. Last year was my first awards post (for 2020), in which best of show went to Heavy Metal Brewing. The criteria remains the same, except that to be eligible, a tap had to be put into use or released in 2021. I made a list of taps that I know fit that criteria - although I'm certain there are taps out there that I'm unaware of. Here's the list of taps that were up for awards:

Exile Dankalope

LeSang D'Encre

Beavertown Bloody Ell

Beavertown Skulloon

Beavertown Neck Oil can

Beavertown Nanobot can

Beavertown Bloody Ell can

Beavertown Lupuloid can

Stormalong

Monkeynaut

Frothy Beard

Lucette Big Hoppa

Sinister

Grumpy Old Men

Alt City

Agua Santa

Labyrinth v2

5ive Cities

Pabst Kate Hush

Harviestoun

Naked River SasQueen

I've created categories similar to last year, with each one having a Gold, Silver, and Bronze medal for the winners. However, I reduced the number of categories due to fewer taps being eligible this year. I  did retain the overall "Tap Handle of the Year" category - otherwise known as "Best In Show". Here are the categories and winners for 2021:

Best Nautical Themed Tap

Gold - Stormalong

Silver - LeSang D'Encre

Bronze - Frothy Beard

Best Skull/Skeleton/Undead Theme

Gold - Figueroa Mountain Agua Santa

Silver - Sinister Mafia Blood Orange IPA

Bronze - Beavertown Skulloon

Best Character

Gold - Straight To Ale Monkeynaut

Silver - Lucette Big Hoppa

Bronze - Naked River SasQueen

Tap of the Year

Silver - Lucette Big Hoppa

Bronze - Figueroa Mountain Agua Santa

That concludes the 2021 series of anniversary posts. Look for a tap giveaway coming soon...
