Tap Handle #89: Otter Creek - Copper Ale

An extremely rare and beautiful tap. Otter Creek is still around, but they have switched to a cheaper style of taps and haven't produced this one in quite some time.

Otter Creek Brewery was founded in Middlebury, Vermont in 1991. In 1995 they expanded by moving down the street to a new location. In 1997, Wolaver Brewing, the first USDA-certified organic brewer, merged with Otter Creek. By 2005 the Otter Creek line was distributing 6 year-round and 7 seasonal beers to 22 states. In the past six months they've invested $1 million dollars in improving quality and efficiency in the plant, and the label art has been upgraded.

Copper Ale was the first beer brewed by Otter Creek. It is a medium-bodied amber ale inspired by North German Altbiers. Weighted average on ratebeer.com is 3.02 out of 5.
